Dear Artists:
We are pleased to invite you to the Second National Invitational Exhibition at The Vernon Filley Art Museum (VFAM). This exhibition is quickly earning prestige and we would be honored to feature your work this coming year. The exhibit prospectus and forms are enclosed here. Also enclosed are the Terms of the Filley Invitational.

This show and sale will run at the VFAM from April 26, 2019 through July 20, 2019. Our brand new building, the VFAM provides a spectacular museum-quality venue in South Central Kansas for a variety of subject matter from Contemporary to Southwestern Art. Furthermore, the proceeds of the Filley Invitational benefit the new Museum. As this show has a fundraising appeal for the new museum, Buyers are incentivized by the 40% tax deductible eligibility of their purchases.
As you know, the Museum has an outstanding reputation and art collection which we feel is complemented by inviting accomplished, skillful, and sought-after professional artists from around the Nation to the Vernon Filley Invitational. Consequently, the Filley Invitational is curated like any other art exhibition at the Museum: only the highest-quality works will be shown. If, in the opinion of the curator, a work submitted does not best represent the artist’s talents or fit the exhibit, that work will not be accepted to the exhibition.
Incentives and Guidelines:
- The Vernon Filley Art Museum will select and purchase one piece from the exhibition to accession to our permanent collection.
- You may submit up to 3 entries – PLEASE BE AWARE that we will select 0,1,2, or 3 from your submissions. Invitation and/or Entry does not guarantee acceptance of your work into this exhibit. Before February 15, 2019 your photos should be emailed to bnovotny@vernonfilleyartmuseum.org and your entry form must be filled out at this link: https://goo.gl/forms/qSdH3fbvOW9Pe0082
- Please do not submit work that has shown at The Filley before
Please pay particular attention to the “Dates to Remember” sheet enclosed in the full prospectus document.
