Plein Air Sketch to Studio: 2 day Intermediate Oil Painting Workshop
From plein air to the studio. In this workshop we will discuss plein air and how it helps you complete the painting in the studio. The 1st day will involve plein air sketching in the morning. The afternoon and the next day will be used to paint from the plein air sketch. The Filley will provide all supplies including brushes but if you would like to bring your own brushes, please do. Be prepared to travel to Lemon Park for plein air. Bring: hat to shield the sun, water bottle, and jacket if the weather is cool. Multiple skill and experience levels are welcome. Instructed by David Vollbracht, a professional oil painter who lives in Medicine Lodge KS. David has shown his work at numerous shows including: Alla Prima Westcliffe; National Oil Painters of America Exhibitions; American Plains Art Shows; Kansas Masters Invitational and many others.

BEGINNERS’ PERSPECTIVE DRAWING
Working in traditional graphite, students will learn the basics of drawing in 3 dimensions by studying one and two-point perspective as well as chiaroscuro shading to achieve shadow and light. This class is a great fit for kids and teens.
