CALL FOR ENTRY
Individuals, groups, families, or organizations, would you or your group like to decorate a tree, wreath, or wall decoration and loan it to the Filley for the holiday exhibition?
How to participate:
Loan your tree and decorations, wreath, or wall decor to be on display for the duration of the exhibition. Arrange to set up and take down your own decoration, or your groups decoration.
Calendar:
- This interest form must be returned/submitted to the Filley Art Museum by *October 31st.
- Participants will be notified of selection (we can accept only 20) by *November 4th*.
- Decoration Delivery and Set up day will be *Fri. Nov. 10th (9am to 3pm) & Sat 11/11 (1-4pm)*
- All Decorations must be picked up after the exhibition before *Sat. Jan 13th at 4pm**
- Have a theme and decorations but need a tree? Let us know as the chamber has several to loan!
FREE ADMISSION
For the duration of this exhibit, admission will be free for everyone. The arts are for everyone and we hope the entire community can explore the museum during the Holiday season. We want to give during this time and we hope you will enjoy participating and giving back to the community!
BEST OF SHOW AWARD
Anyone who wishes to vote for “Best of Show Holiday Decoration” may do so. The Award will be announced at the end of the exhibit. The holiday reception will during the chamber/town-wide Christmas Open House Celebration on Sunday, November 19th from 2-4pm. The reception is free and open to the public! Prize for “Best of Show” will be a $30 gift certificate (redeemable at your choice of either the Flower Shoppe or the Filley Gift shop).
DISPLAY FACTS
We will take up to 20 entries, representing a variety of creative themes to be on display at the art museum for an exhibit from November 14th, 2023 through January 10, 2024. The trees, wreaths, and wall decorations will stay on display in the exhibit for the community to enjoy during the Holiday season.
DECOR THEME
Be as creative as you would like; your theme is up to you. Music themed, quilting, artificial food ornament, art themed etc! Do it on your own, or assemble a tree decorating team of work colleagues, organization members, neighbors, family, friends, book club, students – anyone is welcome to enter! Last year we had entries such as: Next GINeration Cotton; The PCC international club; Quilters; Dr. Suess and other themes galore.
HELPFUL HINTS
We have developed a list to make the most of your support and ensure museum environment safety.
- Trees and wreaths must be artificial
- Loose glitter, confetti, or artificial snow cannot be used
- Tree skirts, toppers (Angel, Star, etc.) and tree lights are encouraged but not required
- The total height cannot exceed 8 ft.; mini trees also welcome and encouraged (they will be displayed on pedestals)
- Edible items, even if wrapped or boxed are not allowed
- Spraying or hot gluing on-site is not permitted
- Wreaths: Museum will staff will help you hang these. Either 5lbs command hooks, or picture hanging hardware with nails & hangers if your wreath is heavier than 5lbs.
- Let us know if you need to be positioned near an outlet for lights, please bring your own extension cord.
